Weekend Things

On Saturday we went to Marin for lunch and snapped this pic at Restoration Hardware, which makes a great background for a smiley boy who loves rocks (R.H. - do you by chance need a child model for your laguna concrete ventless fire table?)

Then we made pizza at home....

 

On Sunday, Nicholas ended up having a private swimming lesson because Tyler didn't show up.  It was a BIG day, because Nicholas swam solo for the first time!!  Like, alone, no hands from da-da or teacher Dani!  He paddled from the wall to the "island", and back, and again, and again....

And the weekend concluded with a milk from Starbucks.  A first for Nic:  "Cold tall milk for Nicholas" said the Barista!

Day Out With Thomas!

On Saturday, we drove down to Felton, CA (about 1.5 hours from home) to attend "A Day Out With Thomas."  Nicholas was the happiest boy on earth.  He got to play with trains, get his first tattoo, jump in a bounce house, meet Sir Topham Hatt....all of which climaxed with a 25 minute ride from Thomas the Train himself!  He is also the new lucky owner of Flynn the Fire Truck, Butch the tow train (?), and a commemorative DOWT hauler car.  He's carried them around constantly since their purchase.  It was so happy-making for Jonathan and me to be able to bring such pure joy to this special little guy!  I can't even imagine what Disneyland will be like :)
